Day-by-Day

Day 1 – Pofadder to Groot Melkboom Gariep River (152km)

We start with an early breakfast in Pofadder at 8am where you get the opportunity to meet and socialise with your fellow tour members.

After filling up at the Petrol Station we make our way through Pella and Klein Pella towards Groot Melkboom. This is where we will be sleeping for the night – right next to the Gariep River (formerly known as the Orange River). Be sure to bring your fishing rods as there will be plenty of fish to catch!

Dinner – As per tradition, we light a fire and enjoy a South African Braai

Day 2 – Groot Melkboom to Kamgab River Camp (115km)

An early start to the day with some breakfast and coffee at 7am. Today our destination will be the Kamgab River Camp.

We follow the beautiful Namaqua route, which runs through some of South Africa’s most peaceful landscapes. We continue the route down the GARIEP River and head towards a couple of old mines along the route where we stop to hear some of their fascinating history. Once we reach the Kamgab Camp site, you can sit back, relax and take in the beautiful nature that surrounds the river.

Day 3 – Kamgab River Camp – Wild Camp in the Boetie Pass

Breakfast and Coffee at 7 am – after-which we head to a place called “Road to Hell” for some extreme 4×4 fun! (Take note this is a Grade 4 Route)

We will serve brunch at the starting point after you’ve returned.

Next up we travel to the Boetie Passand enjoy some breathtaking scenery. We set up camp and have a lovely dinner amongst the massive cliffs.


Day 4 – Back to Pofadder (218km)

On our final day we have breakfast at 7am as usual.

We follow the route from Boetie Pass back to Pofadder, we fill up out tanks, say our goodbyes and part ways as friends!
